Emma has over 15 years of experience in research and analysis that combines a multidisciplinary skill set in product design, communications and research. In 2012 she earned a PhD in applied linguistics for a comprehensive qualitative research project that examined the identity of inhabitants living in the border regions on the island of Ireland.
Emma has held roles in the public, utilities and non–profit sectors, most recently with Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) Networks, where she successfully managed the research and delivery for key digital products. She also initiated and coordinated a senior management–led digital steering group at NIE Networks to drive digital change within the organisation and align it with business goals.
Emma is a creative thinker who actively seeks out collaborators to gain insights, analyse data and empathise with users to gain an understanding of the big picture.
Outside of Fathom, Emma can be found on the tennis court, cycling her vintage bicycle or painting watercolour portraits of her children in her bedroom ‘studio’.
