Digital Project Manager

Belfast / Remote based in UK / IRE

An exciting new digital project management role is available at Fathom, part of Low&Behold; an opportunity for a talented and hard–working digital project manager to be responsible for delivering user–centred research, design and development projects for some of the most forward thinking, innovative and challenging brands across the UK, Island of Ireland and further afield. The chosen candidate, in collaboration with and supported by the senior people at Fathom will be responsible for the delivery of projects alongside our multidisciplinary team of UX consultants, designers, researchers and developers servicing an array of Fathom clients across multiple concurrent projects.

You will be a key team member and contributor to a small, experienced planning team at Fathom and will take responsibility for your own key accounts and financial / project reporting, involving effective use of our suite of accounting, project management and time utilisation tools.

Key responsibilities

i) Project Management

  • Prepare project plans for clients and project briefs for the Fathom research, design and development delivery teams 
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget, via effective monitoring and internal and client facing communications 
  • Administer project schedules, detailed briefs and tasks with a high level of detail accuracy and governance via our project tool ‘asana’ 
  • Prepare and deliver reports on various commercial health signals including billing schedules, project margin, team utilisation and team timesheet completion data 
  • Be in regular and proactive contact with clients during project planning and delivery cycles, scheduling and leading calls, workshops and meetings where required, individually and as part of a team 
  • Be a key contributor to projects working with our clients, delivery colleagues and partners giving valuable input and suggestions to key business decisions with a user–centred mindset to help users achieve their goals and in turn improve business for our ambitious clients 

ii) Key Account Management

  • Work as part of the planning team to develop profitable, long–term great key client account relationships
  • Assist the planning team with invoice preparation and credit control communications
  • Work as part of the planning team to achieve targeted KAM revenue
  • Be proactive in identifying future opportunities or improvements for our key clients to help them meet their strategic goals and in turn grow our revenues

iii) Business Development

  • Assist in the preparation of online and offline marketing activities with our marketing team
  • Assist the business development function of the business leading tender and proposal submissions and in–person pitches 

Personnel specification of the UX Project Manager

  • Has excellent organisational and time management skills – you need to be comfortable working on multiple, concurrent work streams 
  • Has the ability to estimate work, deliver to deadlines, and be vocal when risk arises, escalating to the Head of Planning
  • Has excellent skills in Microsoft office and / or Google Docs software suite 
  • Has some experience / knowledge of the principles and processes of UX design
  • Has some experience in managing web projects
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Has excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills (required to effectively convey briefs, project plans and strategic recommendations to clients and colleagues) 
  • Has experience in using software tools to manage projects, administer and report on timesheets and to update and query billing and client information 
  • Has strong working experience (2+ years) in project / account management positions, ideally in a user experience, digital or design agency environment 
  • Has a strong desire to learn and enhance their contribution to the company via continuous professional development (which fathom will support via training and resources where appropriate)
  • Has a good eye for attention to detail
  • Is kind and people orientated.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with marketing automation platforms
  • Experience working in an agile or sprint–based project environment
  • Experience with using data analytics platforms
